The movement is in direct response to President Trump's crackdown on crime and the heavily debated deployment of the National Guard to major U.S. cities such as Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Chicago. In August, President Trump threatened to send troops into Baltimore despite heavy opposition from state and city leaders. However, Baltimore is currently seeing a historic decline in crime, with homicides and non-fatal shootings down by 50% since 2023, according to Mayor Brandon Scott. Domestic Disturbance Lexington Park Man Indicted on Assault ChargesOctober 18, 2025 T. Wald, 38, of Lexington Park, has been indicted on multiple charges stemming from a violent domestic incident that occurred on January 30, 2024. He is charged with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property, and attempting to elude police. The incident began after Wald became angry about a text message the male victim had sent to Wald's wife. Wald allegedly forced his way into the victim's bedroom, confronted him, and struck him in the face, causing a fractured jaw, misaligned teeth, and excessive oral bleeding. Wald is also accused of assaulting his wife and damaging a laptop belonging to St. Mary's County Public Schools. A status hearing is scheduled for November 25, 2025, with a jury trial set to begin on February 2, 2026. Violation of Protective Order Lexington Park Man Charged with Violating Protective OrderOctober 18, 2025 P. Nutter, 39, of Lexington Park, has been formally charged with violating a protective order. The alleged incident occurred on October 15, 2025, just hours after he was served the order. According to the statement of probable cause, the protective order issued on October 15, 2025, prohibited Nutter from entering or remaining at the residence. The adult female victim called the police to report that Nutter had entered the crawl space beneath the home. When deputies returned later that night, they located an open hatch beneath the home and visually confirmed Nutter was inside the crawl space. Nutter eventually complied and exited the crawl space, and was taken into custody. He is charged under Maryland Family Law § 4-509, a misdemeanor offense that carries a potential penalty of up to 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
