Brown says state and local officers should avoid enforcing civil immigration laws. This comes as a visitor to Baltimore, N. Gipson, had her wallet stolen and experienced a delayed police response, leading her to question the city's crime statistics and visitor safety. Gipson emailed Mayor B. Scott and Governor W. Moore's office, urging them to address quality of life crimes and ensure residents and visitors feel safe. Meanwhile, Baltimore police are investigating an attempted armed robbery and assault at a local smoke shop. Two Suspects Charged in Montgomery County Pizza Place Robbery SpreeOctober 16, 2025Authorities have charged two individuals, B., 22, and C., 18, both from Washington, D.C., with a series of armed robberies targeting pizza restaurants in Montgomery County, Maryland. The suspects are accused of holding up four different pizza places over the past three weeks, including a Manny & Olga's Pizza location in Bethesda on Oct. 8. During the Bethesda incident, one of the suspects implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the register before fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle. Police were able to apprehend the suspects shortly after the robbery. Investigators have also linked B. to three additional armed robberies at other pizza restaurants in the area between Sept. 23 and Oct. 1. WMAR and Partners Collect Donations for House of Ruth to Support Domestic Violence SurvivorsOctober 16, 2025WMAR, Weis Markets, and community partners gathered to help House of Ruth Maryland with essential items for people getting out of domestic violence situations. The donations, including towels, hygiene items, and other basic necessities, will be provided to clients of House of Ruth who often leave their homes with nothing.
