Double Homicide and Shooting Incidents in Baltimore 2025-03-05A 38-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were shot and killed in a home in the Oldtown neighborhood of Baltimore on Tuesday evening. Central District officers responded to the 1000 block of McAleer Court around 8:20 p.m. and found the two victims inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Around the same time, a 20-year-old man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. The shooting occurred in the 41000 block of Audrey Avenue in South Baltimore. Police are investigating both incidents. High-Ranking MS-13 Leader Arrested in Maryland 2025-03-04U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI apprehended an illegal Salvadoran alien, O., charged in his home country with possession of firearm, extorsion and terrorist affiliation when officers arrested him in Hyattsville, Maryland. O. is a high-ranking leader in the MS-13 transnational terrorist organization and controlled the operation of MS-13 cliques in the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Authorities in El Salvador had previously arrested O. in 2016 and charged him for the same crimes. O. illegally entered the United States on an unknown date, at an unknown location, and without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by a U.S. immigration official. The Prince George's County Police Department arrested O. in 2024 for driving without a license. Baltimore Woman Sentenced for Sex Trafficking 2025-03-04Kenika D. Leach, 33, of Baltimore, Maryland, was sentenced to 15 years in prison following a multi-agency investigation led by the Attorney General's Organized Crime Unit. Leach pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), and receiving the earnings of a prostitute. The investigation revealed that Leach trafficked at least 10 women into hotels across Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties for commercial sex acts, exploiting them through drug dependency and physical violence. The successful resolution of this case highlights the effectiveness of the Blue Dot program, which trains healthcare and emergency responders to recognize signs of human trafficking and connect survivors to essential services. |
