Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Middle River 2024-11-04

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Middle River area over the weekend. At around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, an officer with the Baltimore County Police Department was on routine patrol in the 2200-block of Hawthorne Road (21220) when he located a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead. Currently, homicide detectives are awaiting autopsy results. The identity of the person remains unknown. As detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident, they ask anyone with information pertinent to the case to contact 410-887-3700. Two Killed, Two Injured in Elkton Quadruple Shooting 2024-11-04

Two men were killed, and two other people were injured during a quadruple shooting in Elkton on Saturday, Nov. 2, according to Maryland State Police. The victims were identified as 26-year-old Darius B. of Bear, Delaware and 26-year-old Tamir D. of New Castle, Delaware. The shooting happened around 6 a.m. after an altercation at a gathering outside a home on Chestnut Drive in Elkton. An unknown person left the house and fired shots into a crowd of people standing outside, officers said. Davis was pronounced dead at Christianna Hospital while B. was pronounced dead after being found lying on the side of I-95. A woman was also taken to a hospital where officers said she is being treated for her injuries. The shooting is still under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact Maryland State Police.

The county executive's run for Congress and the push to expand the County Council are headlines in Tuesday's Baltimore County general election. Marylanders will head to the polls, vote by mail or use ballot dropboxes. Maryland's race for U.S. Senate pits a prominent Democrat against a former Republican governor competing to replace a retiring congressman. The presidential race tops the ballot nationwide, and judges are up for election in Baltimore County. There's also a ballot question on abortion. Residents can request a mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections or their local board. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot in person is Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5 by 8 p.m. Mail-in ballots must be mailed and postmarked, placed in one of these dropboxes or taken to a polling place or local board of elections by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
