Fells Point Residents Debate Solutions to Baltimore's Crime ProblemNovember 4, 2025Residents of Baltimore's Fells Point neighborhood expressed mixed opinions on how to address the city's crime problem following a violent weekend. In less than 90 minutes, three separate shootings occurred between Canton and Fells Point, resulting in one death. Some residents supported the idea of deploying the National Guard to the city, while others strongly opposed it. Some believe that social programs, rather than increased police presence, are the solution. Despite the president's threat to deploy the National Guard, both the governor and the mayor have resisted the idea. Many residents believe that juveniles are responsible for much of the violence in the area.
