Murder Man convicted of second-degree murder in fatal shooting on MTA bus 2025-08-08 A Baltimore jury found J. Richburg, 62, guilty of second-degree murder and two gun charges in the Nov. 30, 2024, killing of W. Womack, 30, on a Maryland Transit Administration bus. Prosecutors said Womack was shot in cold blood, but Richburg claimed self-defense. Womack's family members said they are pleased with the verdict, which gives them a sense of justice. The assistant state's attorney said the MTA bus surveillance video clearly showed what happened, with Womack bumping into Richburg and the two exchanging words before Richburg got off the bus, then got back on and shot Womack.
