Brushfire Contained on Sheppard Pratt Campus in Towson 2025-03-01

The Baltimore County Fire Department battled a brushfire that broke out on the grounds of Sheppard Pratt's Towson campus near the historic gatehouse on Saturday night. The fire spanned a wooded area in the valley behind the gatehouse off the east side of Charles Street, not far from Greater Baltimore Medical Center and the Towson University athletic fields. The fire was contained on the property of Sheppard Pratt and did not affect any buildings or the historic arch. Firefighters from multiple companies, including volunteer companies from as far away as Pikesville, responded to the scene due to the need for water. The brushfire spanned about an acre and a half and was mostly contained within an hour.

Cult-Like Group Linked to Married Couple's Murder in Pennsylvania 2025-03-02

Authorities investigating the 2023 murder of a married couple in Pennsylvania have linked the case to an obscure, cult-like group known as the Zizians—described as 'highly educated, AI-obsessed vegans.' The group has reportedly been connected to multiple violent crimes across the United States. Richard and Rita Zajko were found shot dead in their home in Chester Heights on December 31, 2022. Their daughter, Michelle Zajko, became a person of interest after authorities discovered her links to individuals associated with the Zizians. She was questioned but refused to cooperate and later fled a Pennsylvania State Police barracks, abandoning her vehicle and $40,000 in cash. The case remained unsolved for nearly two years, but recent developments have reignited attention, particularly after Zajko and two associates were arrested in Maryland on trespassing and weapons charges. A prosecutor revealed in court that they were part of a group 'tied to multiple homicides that have occurred across the United States.'

Man Killed by Booby Trap in Vacant Home, Cops Suspect It Was Meant for Them 2025-03-02

A 34-year-old South Carolina man was killed after he entered a vacant home with a booby trap set up to shoot him with a shotgun, but cops have theorized the fatal shot was meant for them instead. The bizarre death occurred when J. Dove went to check on a family member's vacant house in Saint Matthews, and a gun rigged to the back door fatally shot him. Authorities then discovered that the booby trap was set so that anyone who entered the back door would be killed. The home was owned by A. Brown, Dove's uncle, who is currently serving time in a Maryland jail on attempted murder charges. Cops believe Brown set up the trap for when law enforcement eventually came knocking at his door.
