Residents say change and protection are needed for a city that continues to grow. Adnan Syed's Legal Battle Continues 2025-02-26

A Maryland state court judge is set to decide whether Adnan Syed will remain free despite his conviction for the 1999 murder of his high school ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. Syed's attorneys have petitioned the court for a sentence reduction to time served under Maryland's Juvenile Restoration Act. The Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates supports Syed's motion to reduce his sentence, despite withdrawing a previous motion to vacate his conviction. The victim's family objected during the emotional hearing, saying he should serve out his original life sentence. The judge said she'll rule soon.

Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Baltimore County 2025-02-26

Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Tuesday night. 37-year-old Jessica Davis was attempting to cross Baltimore National Pike when she was struck by a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC300, which was traveling eastbound at the time. Davis was pronounced deceased on the scene, and the driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
