Suspect Sought in Baltimore Shooting 2025-02-19Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect connected to a shooting that occurred on January 31 in the unit block of North Conkling Street in Baltimore. Authorities have released photos of the individual and are urging anyone who recognizes them to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southeast District Detectives, Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland, or call 911. BGE Restores Power to Majority of Customers After Wind Storm 2025-02-19BGE anticipated 99% of the customers who lost electricity during Sunday's powerful wind storm would have their power restored by 11 p.m. on Tuesday. The wind gusts knocked down trees and powerlines in Maryland. As of 11 p.m., about 2,000 customers were still without power, according to BGE's power outage map. Most of the power outages happened in Baltimore County. BGE says crews have worked around the clock to restore power to 125,000 customers, which officials say represents 90% of the outages. The utility company says 230,000 customers avoided a power outage. Assist from other utility contractors, with roughly 1,800 repair crews out on Tuesday, helped to accelerate the restoration efforts. Extremist Group Members Denied Bail in Western Maryland 2025-02-18The leader and two other members of the extremist Zizian group, which authorities have connected to the killings of a Pennsylvania couple and a border patrol agent in Vermont, will remain jailed in Western Maryland after a judge denied them bond. Jack 'Ziz' LaSota, Michelle Zajko and Daniel Blank are charged with trespassing and obstruction in Allegany County. LaSota and Zajko face gun charges, too. The three were arrested Sunday evening while trying to camp on private property, according to police. They wore dark clothing, gun belts and had two box trucks with multiple firearms, police said. During a bail hearing, the judge said the three could pose a danger to the community if released, and there's a risk they could take off on the run. Authorities have described the three as persons of interest in the killings of Zajko's parents west of Philadelphia. |
