Maintaining Partnerships Key to Tackling Baltimore's Violent Crime 2025-02-14

Law enforcement expert Jason Johnson believes maintaining the partnership between Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates and the new U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland will be key in keeping Baltimore's violent crime down. The former U.S. Attorney, Erek Barron, had an aggressive approach that focused on repeat violent offenders and gun crimes, which Johnson believes has been critical in keeping many of these offenders off the streets. The new U.S. Attorney appointed by President Trump will need to follow a similar playbook to be effective in the fight against crime in Baltimore.
