Man Killed, Two Injured in Baltimore Shootings 2024-10-08A 26-year-old man was killed in a shooting in East Baltimore on Monday night. Homicide detectives are investigating the incident and anyone with information is urged to contact them. Two people, including a minor, were also shot in an exchange of gunfire in Southeast Baltimore early Tuesday morning. Conflict Resolution Center Launches Statewide Youth Conflict Coaching Program 2024-10-08The Conflict Resolution Center of Baltimore County (CRCBC) is celebrating its 15th anniversary by launching a Statewide Youth Conflict Coaching Pilot Program. The program aims to de-escalate conflicts and violence in schools by providing confidential, one-on-one conflict coaching to at-risk middle and high school students. The program is supported by $291,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending and will initially partner with two schools in Baltimore County. Seventh-day Adventist Church Sues Maryland Over Employment Law, Campus Events Peaceful 2024-10-08The Seventh-day Adventist Church is suing Maryland, arguing that the state's fair employment law prevents religious organizations from being able to hire and fire people based on their beliefs. The church says it only employs people who are members of the church and adhere to its religious standards. Meanwhile, events held by pro-Palestine and pro-Israel groups on the University of Maryland, College Park campus on Monday were peaceful, despite fears of violence. |
