My dear Randolph,

If it continues, we’ll have to invent a new signpost for highways to incite the population to pay attention to the falling of vessels and other rubble coming from space.

When we think that last year, no less than 127 big cosmic objects fell on the Earth of which 72 complete satellites and 55 launching devices.

For this year, we’re only modestly at 15 satellites and 17 rocket parts… at least, for the moment!

I must say that up there, it’s a bit of a mess in space. Between 800 and 2000 kilometers above our heads, there’s an enormous cloud of rubbish: bits of old rockets, fragments of satellites, more or less big, waste abandoned by astronauts like a glove, a camera, tools, bags of garbage… and a whole load of metallic objects, over 500 000 for a total of 8.500 tons that turn around at 28000 kilometers per hour at the same rhythm as the rotation of our good old Earth! It’s a real garbage dump… open to the heavens!

And the most serious thing is that every day on average since the 70’s, one of these objects from space falls into the Earth’s atmosphere, the size of which goes from one millimeter to several tons sometimes!

Luckily, the countries that launch spatial vessels have become aware of the problem and are beginning to find solutions, for the least, original.

See you soon.
